As stated elsewhere, it was the Ancient History subchannel at Helium that first drew my attention. In the months preceding my discovery of the website, I had performed an extensive reading program on the subject of Ancient Egypt. Helium offered a number of titles relating to this subject, just waiting for writers to present their articles. I wrote sixteen articles about Egypt from June through September in 2008 alone. A few more followed in subsequent years, but most of the later articles on this page concern other subjects, from Ancient Rome to Pre-Columbian South America.
The article “How the Physical Geography of Ancient Egypt Shaped the Development of Its Civilization” deserves special recognition as the single most popular article in my Helium portfolio. It was viewed more than 12,000 times from 2008 to 2014.
