Greg has just taken delivery of a long-coveted movie: Summoner of the Cryptic Fiend, a lost film from the seventies. With only a limited release in its cinematic run, its viewers had only numbered in the thousands, but now, it’s available on DVD.
Upon his first viewing, the DVD seized up in its player. Disappointment shifted to fascination when Greg learned that the disk carried special coding that revealed an unannounced special feature when viewed on a computer. Eagerly sharing this news on social media, he inspired a simultaneous viewing of the film among hundreds of fellow fans.
Only too late does Greg learn that there may be grim consequences for this action.
